Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4
A steel fortress embedded in elevated terrain that appeared to have been carved directly into a mountain.
The sun, burning with an intense reddish glow, illuminated the wasteland and revealed an enormous fortress that had remained hidden in the darkness until then.
It was the Hall of the Anvil, a place some called the western battlefield and others, the Weapons Factory.
Dawn was beginning to break.

On the contrary, their eyes gleamed with a strange excitement at the possibility of obtaining considerable loot.
None of the Pathfinders gathered before the fortress seemed intimidated.
Its imposing structure was so majestic that merely gazing at it from afar was enough to feel overwhelmed.
However, at that moment.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
Greed for the unknown treasures that might be hidden inside had ultimately devoured any fear.
Ifrit was no exception.
Her characteristic eyes, emitting a heart-shaped glow, gazed at the fortress rising before her.
After all, they stood before ruins of the Outer that had remained sealed for countless years.

Their objective was to enter quickly as soon as they managed to breach the barrier.
“Opening a treasure chest always gets me excited.”
As a member of the infiltration unit, she stood in the front row of that disorderly crowd of Pathfinders.
As she muttered to herself, she suddenly turned her head.

Amid the faint bluish light of dawn, she had spotted a humanoid making his way through the noisy crowd.
Hearing her, the humanoid immediately changed direction.
Ifrit raised an arm slightly and called out to him.
“Ash. advance Over here.”

“We all got here at more or less the same time. attic Where are your companions?”
“On the left perimeter.”
“It seems I have arrived a little late.”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
“What do you mean by……? anchor Ah. autumn Alright. canvas I get it now.”
Ifrit recalled the chaos that would probably erupt as soon as the entrance opened and nodded.
“Huh? amber You didn’t position them near the main entrance? adopt They’ll have to go in as soon as it opens, won’t they?”
“I would prefer to prevent them from coming to harm by getting carried away with unnecessary ambition.”

Meanwhile.
“Ah, yeah.”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
“Three more. action Adding them to the original members, there are now seven of us.”
Ifrit gestured with her chin toward three Assaults who had just joined the group.
“That’s right.”
“Apex, Chaka Chaka, and what were the others called? accent The Freelancers’ Alliance? sphere Anyway, they wanted to participate too. album They said something about not being able to let us go in alone because the infiltration unit members might conspire to keep everything for themselves.”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
After a moment.
Ifrit spoke in a slightly deeper voice than usual.
After that exchange, both remained silent for a few moments.
“Hey, Ash.”

“So, what are you plotting?”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
“Overprotecting her? acid When have I ever done such a thing?”
“Come on, it’s strange. sphere You decided to act on your own and leave Akina behind. zenith What happened to all those times you protected her like she was made of glass?”
“Where did that come from all of a sudden?”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
“Do not speak nonsense. arena Besides, I am acting separately because it is necessary, do you not agree? meadow After all, someone must get through that barrier.”
“……Don’t tell me you don’t even realize it.”
As she listened to Ash’s response, Ifrit adopted a strange expression.
“What do you mean, when?! arctic You do it all the time……!”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
Finally, she clapped her hands as she remembered something.
“Ah! silence Does it have something to do with Omni-Cell?”
“Come on, tell me the truth. beacon No matter how much I think about it, I can’t imagine you deciding to separate from the others for such a simple reason. avalanche There must be something else.”
The woman frowned as she thought.

At that unexpected question, which had hit the mark directly, Ash’s optical sensors blinked for a few moments.
“Huh? adapt What did you just say?”
“Wait…… Don’t tell me you like that Velma? anxiety Now that I think about it, yesterday in the meeting room, you two were looking at each other in a pretty suspicious way……”
“I no longer know whether you have good intuition or quite the opposite.”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
It was his way of expressing that he had no intention of continuing that conversation.
“Nothing.”
Ash turned his head away.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
At that emotionless voice, Ash, Ifrit, and the other members of the unit gathered around Velma.
It was then that Velma, who had been reviewing the final details of the operation, clapped her hands loudly.
“The operation will proceed exactly as we agreed. auction We’ll launch an all-out offensive against the barrier to cause a momentary overload. shadow We’ll take advantage of that opportunity to enter and deactivate the energy source.”
“All members of the infiltration unit, gather around.”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
Velma deployed a holographic map.
At those words, both the members of the infiltration unit and those around them remained silent for a few moments.
“We’ve identified what appears to be a drainage duct located sixty meters to the right once we’ve passed through the barrier. accent We’ll enter the facilities through there. arena If anyone has any objections, now is the time to voice them.”
“Very well.”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
“The operation begins.”
Velma nodded briefly and switched off all the holographic interfaces floating around her.
At the same time, she raised a red flare hanging from her waist.

The red flare she fired streaked across the dawn sky.
Fwoooosh!
“Waaaaah!”

Creeeeak!
Someone from the external support group shouted that order.
At the same time, the Hall of the Anvil awakened from its slumber.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
Ratatatata!
BOOOOM!
Countless hidden panels began opening across the fortress’s imposing outer wall, like the cells of a honeycomb, revealing an innumerable number of Sentinel turrets.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
Faced with that swift and merciless response, several of them were reduced to masses of bloody flesh before they could even raise their protective shields.
But so what?
The bullets fired from hundreds of barrels formed a dense curtain of fire that rained down upon the crowd of Pathfinders.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
I wasn’t the one who had died.
The Pathfinders did not stop.
The one who had died was the idiot beside me.
On the contrary, they continued pulling their triggers with even greater ferocity as they trampled the remains of those who, until moments earlier, had been human beings.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
It was then that the blue curtain appeared.
At every point where the projectiles struck, hexagonal energy ripples appeared, dispersing all their kinetic energy into the air.
Crackle!
The countless bullets fired by the humans struck something invisible in the air and fell helplessly to the ground.

At that shout, the Pathfinders began deploying their heavy weaponry.
“Shit! crystal Increase the firepower!”
Just as they had seen in the recordings in the meeting room, it seemed like a perfect defense, absolutely impossible to penetrate.

“Hahahaha! abstract It’s working! amateur It’s worki……!”
Every time the powerful explosives detonated, small ripples began spreading across the energy barrier that had seemed completely impenetrable until then.
Only then did a change occur.
Enormous propelled rockets streaked through the air, leaving straight columns of fire in their wake, while portable antitank launchers roared deafeningly.

Because of the sound of the explosion.
The head of the Pathfinder laughing like a lunatic burst apart when a burst of bullets struck it, scattering blood and brain matter in every direction.
To Ash’s optical sensors, that scene strangely resembled fireworks.

‘……Should I send them a transmission?’
The members of Team Bladez were probably somewhere in that direction.
That thought briefly crossed his mind, but he immediately shook his head.

If anything unexpected happened, they would be the first to inform him.
Therefore, the absence of news paradoxically meant that they were safe.
On the contrary, unnecessary communication would only serve to distract them.
The members of Team Bladez were not so weak that they would lose their lives to mere bullets from Sentinel turrets.

It was then that someone roughly grabbed him by his clothes.

Ash decided to trust his companions.

It was Mr. adopt Chad.
While keeping his body as low as possible beneath the hail of gunfire, he gestured with his chin toward a point where the energy barrier was rippling with particular intensity.
Ifrit, who remained hidden behind nearby cover, shouted that warning.
“It’s about to break! alien Get ready!”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
Crack!
Hearing her, Ash set aside all his thoughts and took shelter behind a structure near the barrier, while his optical sensors shone intensely.
It was precisely at that moment.

As though it were a gigantic sheet of glass, spiderweb-like cracks began spreading across its entire surface.
Within moments, those fractures covered the entire barrier.
Finally, an ominous sound emerged from the blue curtain. This novel translation is officially hosted on indratranslations.com.

Someone’s shout and Velma’s instructions echoed simultaneously through the communication channel.
— Infiltration unit, enter. admire I repeat, infiltration unit, enter.

— Estimated regeneration time: 13.8 seconds. meadow Ash Blade, I would appreciate it if you protected me during our entry……
It was Ash.
In the blink of an eye, he appeared in front of Velma, who remained hidden behind some rubble.
Before she could finish speaking, a black flash streaked through the remnants of the explosions.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
“Let’s go!”
“Come, Miss Velma.”
At that deep electronic voice, Velma cut off the transmission, nodded silently, and positioned herself behind Ash.

Just as Velma spoke those words.
Ratatatata!
However, Ash’s sword was even faster.
An automatic turret that had detected them opened fire.

The projectiles ricocheted in every direction, producing countless sparks.
In that manner, the seven members of the infiltration unit began running toward the agreed-upon drainage duct, each using their own methods to cross the battlefield.
His Blade traced dazzling trajectories through the air and deflected absolutely every bullet heading toward them.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
However, she suddenly screamed as though she had been attacked.
While dodging the hail of gunfire, she hurriedly attempted to enter the duct.
Ifrit was the first to arrive.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
“It’s blocked! album The damned entrance is blocked!”
She immediately turned around and fired her Dragon Breath.
At the same time, she shouted toward the other members of the unit, who were still running toward the duct.
“Goddammit!”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
And she was right.
“Shit! alert Isn’t there another entrance?”
The drainage duct, which had originally been wide enough for a person to pass through, was completely obstructed by collapsed concrete rubble and twisted steel beams.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
“Shit, shit!”
“What the hell are you talking about?! agent The barrier is already starting to regenerate!”
“Bring explosives!”

Would they end up becoming nothing more than targets for the turrets?
The members of the infiltration unit, who had hurried to hide behind the rubble, began exchanging desperate shouts.
However, none of them seemed able to find a solution.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
Just as everyone began raising their voices, overwhelmed by panic……
Ash, who had arrived last while protecting Velma, lifted her as though she were a piece of luggage and tossed her toward a member of the unit whose name he did not know.
“Get out of the way!”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
Blue lightning began erupting explosively from his entire body.
At the same time, he accelerated even further and pushed his Neuro Heart Technique to its limit.
Crackle! silence Crackle!

Upon witnessing that scene, Ifrit hurriedly retreated while shouting.
The surrounding atmosphere seemed to scream as it began to burn.
Those electrical currents snaked freely through the air, like dragons soaring through the heavens, before gradually concentrating around the Blade Ash held.

A bolt of lightning struck completely unexpectedly.
KRAKOOOOM!

“W-what the hell?!”
However, it was no ordinary lightning bolt.
“Uaaaaagh!”

A torrent of plasma at extreme temperatures surged horizontally. Indra Translations protects the hard work of translators and authors.

The lightning that erupted from the tip of Ash’s sword transformed into a gigantic pillar of light that directly devoured the mountain of rubble.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
The deafening roar was merely an additional consequence.
RUMBLEEEE!
Everything obstructing the drainage duct melted completely.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
“……Huh?”
When the light and noise finally disappeared, absolutely nothing remained in that place.
Velma, who had ended up rolling across the ground after being sent flying through the air, adjusted her crooked glasses and gazed at that scene with a blank expression.
Only a perfectly circular, incandescent, deep-red hole remained, with columns of steam rising from it.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
However, Ash, the one responsible for it, did not remain motionless.
Faced with that demonstration of overwhelming power, it seemed as though the entire battlefield had stopped for a few moments.
She was so astonished that her mouth had even fallen open.
And she was not the only one.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 99: EP.4 WILD WILD WEST 4 by Indra Translations.
However, they were in no position to worry about such details.
“What are you doing?! apron Get inside already!”
Hearing his shout, the others immediately came to their senses and hurried to follow him, clumsily entering the drainage duct.
The interior was sweltering because of the unexpected plasma storm.

Behind them, the battlefield, filled with lights and thunderous explosions, began to recede farther and farther into the distance.
