Chapter 71: Into the Heart of the Storm 2
A certain distance from the explosion site.
Although the roar that had shaken the earth had finally ceased, the charred remains of Vortex’s vehicles continued releasing columns of black smoke and a pungent burning smell.
The wasteland was still covered in the aftermath of that devastating explosion.

Psssh.
The Revenant and Foundation Systems’ vehicles came to a stop, maintaining some distance between them.
Ash was the first to step onto the ground after the Revenant stopped.

The other members of Team Bladez emerged behind him.
At Zero’s murmur, Ash nodded.
“Impressive.”

And it was not simply their numbers.
It was the vehicles in which they had arrived.
The Foundation forces deployed before them were truly impressive.

The countless missile launchers mounted on those structures were enough to convey a chilling presence.
Rather than means of transportation, they looked like mobile artillery batteries.
Machines designed for a single purpose to erase the enemy from existence through overwhelming firepower.
Their aerodynamic armor resembled the enormous shells of insects, while their low tracks seemed to cling to the ground.

She wore a short leather jacket over a tight-fitting motorcycle suit that accentuated every curve of her figure.
When Ash and his companions appeared, several people began emerging from those tank-like vehicles.
Among them was a woman who stood out in particular.
‘I had heard that the power of the Trinity was extraordinary, but this exceeds my expectations.’

Two antennae resembling those of an insect protruded above that visor.
Where her eyes should have been, she had a black visor extending horizontally across her face.
It was her unusual face.
However, her clothing was not the main reason she attracted so much attention.

Ash briefly considered that possibility.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 71: Into the Heart of the Storm 2 by Indra Translations.
It was a rather old-fashioned gesture.
“I thank you for your assistance. wizard Were you the one who contacted us a few moments ago……?”
Her full lips, coated in purple lip gloss, formed a seductive smile.
Ash performed a martial salute, pressing his fist against his palm, toward the approaching woman.

“Oh, come on. altitude This is how you greet someone.”
When she reached Ash, she took an additional step and suddenly wrapped him in a tight embrace, pressing his solid steel body against her own.
However, it seemed that the woman preferred a different kind of greeting.

Judging by how accustomed they seemed to such a spectacle, that woman must behave like this regularly.
Her seductive voice caressed Ash’s audio sensors.
The Foundation Assaults standing behind her began whistling, while others slapped their hands against the armored vehicles as though applauding.

“Have you eliminated all the Vortex personnel?”
For some reason, she seemed to have a rather exhausting personality.
Ash blinked his optical sensors a couple of times and, instead of answering, ignored her comment and pointed toward the burning wasteland.
“……”

“I wish.”
“Those were scouts. legend A reconnaissance unit sent to find out which direction you were heading. antenna The real enemies are probably already on their way here, drawn by the smell of blood.”
At the same time, she asked him a question.
Kiss shook her head.

“I said we are heading to the Ghost Tower.”
“Huh? atlas What?”
“To the Ghost Tower.”

The woman flinched, displaying an expression of genuine aversion.
“Is it not a signal interference zone? arena A rather famous one, at that.”

So he had taken an old ECM electronic countermeasure device from a corner of the storage room and activated it.
Therefore, in practice, the interference posed no truly serious threat to Ash’s systems.
Furthermore, even those effects disappeared when he used the Neuro Heart Technique.
Although slight interference appeared in his field of vision and his sensory responses became somewhat slower, he could still function without major difficulties.

He simply shrugged.

“In any case, are you really heading to the Ghost Tower? atom Hmm…… Then it’ll be difficult to accompany you all the way to the ruins. august Although I suppose the same will be true for Vortex. crystal I don’t know whether I should be happy or worried.”
If Kiss was the one controlling them, as seemed to be the case, the Ghost Tower would be an especially unfavorable place for her.
Ash immediately recalled the hundreds of drones that had passed over the Revenant.

“What is it?”
“A Foundation membership card. shadow It’ll let you use the various shelters we’ve set up throughout the Outer. legend You can hide your vehicle there, and if you need supplies, you’ll find provisions as well. anchor Use as much as you like.”
“For now, take this.”
Kiss pouted slightly, apparently disappointed, before unzipping her suit at chest level and taking out a card.

“What are you talking about? apple Darling, you’re our Ambassador. legend Of course you’re authorized to use them!”
Kiss opened her mouth as though she had just heard something extraordinarily amusing.
“Hmm?”
“……Do we truly have permission to use those facilities?”

“If your destination is the Ghost Tower, I’m afraid we won’t be able to accompany you all the way there. wizard Instead, we’ll try to stop as many Vortex personnel as possible along the access routes. aluminum You can personally take care of the few who manage to get through our blockade, right?”
“Of course.”
Kiss practically forced Ash to take the card.

“Perfect. accent Oh, and one more thing.”
The woman raised a hand and moved one finger slightly.
That object was a plastic container resembling a picnic basket.

“And what is this?”
“Well, let’s just say it’s a kind of…… welcome gift to celebrate your becoming our Ambassador?”
Ash received it almost reflexively.

“What? adapt Hahahaha!”
The woman burst into loud laughter before snapping her fingers toward her companions.

With the clouds of dust slowly beginning to rise in the background, the woman kissed her fingertips and blew that kiss toward Ash.

Situated between the walls of a narrow, deep canyon, that place was so well hidden that it was practically impossible to discover unless observed from the sky.
Once the Revenant was parked, all the members of Team Bladez descended from the vehicle.

Then they gazed at the sinister tower rising along the distant horizon.

“Maybe it’s because of the name Ghost Tower, but this place has an atmosphere that makes you think a ghost could appear at any moment.”
This time, it was Akina who intervened.

Every single one of them was holding a sandwich.
“But they’re just too delicious.”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 71: Into the Heart of the Storm 2 by Indra Translations.
