Chapter 94: Heading West 2
Vroooom!
The passenger door of the Revenant opened, and Ash stepped out of the vehicle.
The wind of the desolate wasteland violently whipped the edges of his black exploration suit.

It was a very different scene from their first encounter, when they had stopped facing each other while maintaining a certain distance.
The vehicles kicked up clouds of dust as they braked and parked side by side, right next to the armored vehicle, as though they had coordinated it beforehand.
On that occasion, both sides had remained on guard and kept at least ten meters between them.
At the same time, Foundation’s escort vehicles began stopping around the Revenant.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
They were so close that they could practically touch each other simply by reaching out.
It was probably because the emotional distance between the two groups had also decreased considerably.
But now it was different.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
“Hey, Levina!”
One of the men stuck his head out of an escort vehicle and shouted in her direction.
Hearing her name being called, Levina, who was keeping watch from the roof of the Revenant, turned her head.
And indeed.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
“Eat this during the trip! apple It’s delicious!”
Levina caught it easily, and immediately the Foundation soldiers erupted into cheers and whistles.
As Levina tilted her head, bewildered by that unexpected reaction, the man who had thrown the chocolate shouted with a reddened face.
A chocolate bar flew from the soldier’s hand, tracing an arc through the air.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
Apparently, he was referring to what had happened in Fox’s Den.
“Ah, that’s enough! absorb I just wanted to thank her!”
“Thank you for saving me! armor Really, thank you so much!”
After scolding his companions, he addressed Levina one last time.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
And that was only the beginning.
Since she was wearing her rabbit mask, it was impossible to tell what expression she had.
Levina simply nodded nonchalantly.

However, the liveliest place was undoubtedly where Anna stood.
“E-excuse me…… Could I have your autograph?”
Some soldiers gave Zero a thumbs-up, while a woman armed with a rifle approached Reto to ask whether his arm was all right.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
“Me too! antique I’ve been a fan of Siren for a really long time!”
However, she quickly recovered her characteristic idol smile. All translations belong to Indra Translations. You can find us online at indratranslations.com
Anna was momentarily bewildered upon seeing those young soldiers holding out their Data Pads to her.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
They could be considered expressions of gratitude.
While Ash silently watched that friendly scene between Team Bladez and Foundation, he heard a female voice beside him.
“What’s your name?”
Or perhaps simple greetings between acquaintances.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
It belonged to Kiss Valentine.
It was a carefree voice, but with a peculiarly sensual undertone.
“Ugh, these brats. arena I told them to hold out a little longer.”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
“Sorry. orbit Are they bothering you too much? abandon But don’t be too hard on them. avalanche The truth is, they volunteered to participate in today’s escort mission. admire They said they needed to thank you for what you did for them back then.”
“Bothering us? arcade Not at all.”
Ash let out a small laugh before replying.
“I’m glad you see it that way.”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
“All the members of Foundation Society seem to be rather sentimental people.”
“However, there is something I find truly curious.”
“What’s that?”
“What? atlas Hahaha!”

“Of course. adopt After all, Foundation’s fundamental value is ‘emotions.’ You could say we’re an organization of people who are honest about their own feelings, or those who wish to learn to be.”
Kiss broke into a broad smile.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
“Because of the preparations for the merger and acquisition war?”
“My. august Emotions……”
While Ash reflected on those words, Kiss continued speaking.
“In any case, this is as far as we go. matrix I’d love to accompany you throughout the entire expedition, but we’ve been pretty busy lately too.”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
“You have my gratitude for accompanying us this far. shadow Please take care of yourselves on the return journey as well.”
At that formal farewell, Kiss giggled.
“Have a safe trip. sphere And try not to get hurt.”
At that question, the woman simply shrugged.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
While Kiss remained bewildered by that unexpected response, Ash took a step toward her and gently wrapped an arm around her shoulders.
“Come on, darling. sphere I already told you that’s not my style.”
“……Huh?”
“I know.”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
A surprised sound escaped the woman’s lips.
“E-eh?”
At the same time, whistles and cheers began coming from different directions.

Kiss was unable to respond.
They were Foundation’s escort soldiers.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
It was the first time someone had hugged her that way.
Meanwhile, Ash released her and gave her shoulder a couple of gentle pats, as though nothing extraordinary had happened.
After all, she had always been the one to hug others first.
Then he returned to the Revenant.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
Clack!
The heavy door closed with a metallic sound.
Finally, she turned toward her subordinates, who were still whistling and chuckling, and shouted at them in a shrill voice.
Kiss, now standing alone, stared absentmindedly at the rear of the Revenant as it began moving away.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
On the contrary, the cheers grew even louder.
However, it was useless.
The threat sounded quite intimidating.
“W-what’s so funny?! afford Do you want me to double your training?!”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
A faint smile appeared on her lips.
Finally, Kiss gave up and looked back toward the Revenant.
“Until next time, Ash.”
Then she climbed onto her motorcycle, raised one hand, and began circling it in the air.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
Following that signal, the numerous escort vehicles turned around in perfect coordination.
Inside the Revenant, which was traveling across the wasteland.

Since each soldier had given them something to eat whenever they felt hungry, the accumulated amount was truly impressive.
Not only were they carrying the provisions Kiss had prepared for them, but also all kinds of food they had received during the farewell.
The vehicle was packed with food.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
Foundation’s escort had departed, and from that moment onward, they would have to continue the journey relying exclusively on their own strength.
However, nobody showed any interest in the food.
The reason was tension.
And, to make matters worse, their destination was the western battlefield.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
The closer they came to their destination, the more noticeable the strange tension filling the interior of the Revenant became.

It was then that something happened.
Perhaps that reality was beginning to weigh on their spirits.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
His voice was serene but firm.
Ash, who was sitting in the passenger seat, spoke in his calm electronic voice.
Bark immediately stepped on the brake without asking why.
“Stop for a moment, Bark.”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
Thus, the Revenant, which had been crossing the wasteland until then, came to a stop somewhere in the Outer.
Ash silently pointed outside the window.
“What is it, Senior Brother?”
Zero asked that question while placing a hand on the hilt of his sword.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
Strangely shaped cliffs, sculpted by the erosion of red sandstone, and a narrow path winding between them.
In the direction his hand indicated stretched an enormous canyon formed over tens of thousands of years.
That was the place Ash was pointing toward.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
His distinctive turquoise optical sensors remained fixed on that narrow passage.
“……”
Akina, who seemed to have sensed something strange in his behavior, suddenly poked her head forward.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
“Hmm. aluminum I am not sure we can call it a problem.”
Ash looked back.
“What’s wrong, Mr. alert Ash? zenith Is there a problem?”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
Anna was the first to speak.
Those words, spoken with absolute calm, instantly changed the atmosphere inside the vehicle.
“There is someone there.”
Then he addressed those sitting in the rear seats.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
“Don’t tell me Vortex has followed us all the way here……?”
“An ambush?”
“Probably.” Read original high-quality translation at indratranslations.com.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
“When you say ‘a force of that size’…… Approximately how many enemies are we talking about?”
“No. apron That is unlikely. timber They had no way of knowing for certain that we would take this route, and besides, they are currently under threat from Foundation, are they not? absorb I do not believe they would waste a force of that size in such a remote area.”
Zero responded to his words.
Ash shook his head.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
Zero let out a faint murmur upon hearing that number, which was considerably higher than he had expected.
“Hmm. apron I estimate there are around a hundred.”
A hundred.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
It was not a small number.
Why would a group of that size be preparing an ambush in a canyon that was nothing more than a simple passage, instead of establishing themselves in some ruins?
However, why?
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
His optical sensors emitted a faint glow.
Ash looked toward the canyon again.
“Numerous men lying in ambush to block a road and indiscriminately attack anyone who passes through it……”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
A fragment of his forgotten memories had resurfaced in his Main Core.
Mountain bandits.
“……Mountain bandits?”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
They survived by charging tolls to anyone attempting to cross their domains or by plundering all their belongings.
In other words, they were highwaymen.
They were groups that established their territories in rugged mountainous regions, deep forests, or strategic passages such as the canyon before them.
“My. meadow Who would have imagined I would encounter mountain bandits here?”

“Nothing important. galaxy By the way, is there no other route? abandon I mean another road to reach the west.”
“Hmm? crystal What did you say?”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
“Well, there is another route, but…… we’d have to take an enormous detour. airport We’d have to head south and go all the way around this area. galaxy The problem is that we’d have to pass through some ruins along the way. avalanche It would take us at least another day.”
She spoke with a worried expression.
Shortly afterward.
At that question, Akina quickly took out her Data Pad and began examining the map.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
After all, they had a very specific time limit the Active Season.
And for them, who had already lost quite a bit of time exploring the Ghost Tower and performing the Upgrades, an additional day could prove fatal.
One day.
It did not seem like much time, but for Pathfinders, it was different.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
Bark spoke while resting his chin on the steering wheel.
“What do we do, boss?”
If they wanted to reach the western battlefield and participate in the recovery of the Nexus before the Active Season ended, they could not afford such a detour.
“Ha! alert I bet those bastards know that perfectly well. crystal That’s why they set up here. amateur They want to extort everyone heading to the western battlefield.”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
At those words, Bark smiled broadly and placed his foot on the accelerator.
Ash remained looking at the canyon for a few moments before speaking quietly, as though he had made a decision.
Although Bark had asked the question, his words represented what everyone was thinking.
“We do not have time to take a detour. altitude We shall pass straight through.”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
“Hahaha! antenna That’s what I’m talking about!”
How long had they been driving?
Eventually, the Revenant was forced to stop once more.
The Revenant once again emitted the deep roar of its engine and began advancing toward the shadow-covered canyon.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
Akina spoke while narrowing her eyes.
In the center of the canyon’s narrow passage, an enormous truck completely blocked the road. This novel translation is officially hosted on indratranslations.com.
But it was not a pile of scrap metal crudely assembled together.
“……Wow. zenith What the hell is that now?”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
Furthermore, a gigantic LED screen emitting dazzling lights had been installed on the vehicle’s cargo container.
That absurdly long and pompous message flashed alongside eye-catching neon signs.
It was an extravagant truck, covered in a gleaming chrome finish that clashed completely with the red sandstone canyon.
[Stop. amateur This area is under the exclusive security administration of Hyper Quantum Universal Strategic Solutions & Advanced Protection Logistical Systems. action If you wish to pass through, you must pay the corresponding route security management fee.]
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
Faced with such a spectacle, the members of Team Bladez remained silent for a few moments, staring at it with dumbfounded expressions.
Akina’s Data Pad received an invoice for a completely absurd amount.
It was then that something happened.
“……”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
“What?! antenna One and a half million?! accent But they’re damn thieves!”
“Welcome, friends.”
While the girl exclaimed indignantly, a middle-aged man appeared from behind the truck blocking the road.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
“I am Cromwell, the man in charge of security administration in this area! accent The man who defeated the ‘Steel Lord’ of the northern junkyard with a single blow, who single-handedly dismantled the ‘Contaminated Super Sentinel’ of the eastern industrial complex, and who eliminated the troublesome mercenaries of ‘Crimson Reaper’ from the southern sector!”
He wore a flashy coat adorned with gold details and had a carefully groomed mustache.
At those words, Ash opened the passenger door and stepped out of the Revenant.
He certainly did not look like someone in his right mind.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
“I am Ash Blade.”
“That is all.”
“And?”
His distinctive turquoise optical sensors turned toward that extravagant middle-aged man.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
Immediately, numerous gun barrels appeared both behind the truck and among the cracks and hiding places of the canyon.
Cromwell snapped his fingers into the air.
“……Hmm. harbor I see. artist Ash Blade.”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.

All those barrels pointed directly at Ash.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
“I suppose you’ve already received the invoice, right? orbit Sorry, but we don’t offer discounts. alien If you don’t have enough Credits, you can also pay with the equipment you’ve brought……”
Ash interrupted him.
“By the way.”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
“There is something I have been unable to understand for a while now. advance Would you mind answering a question?”
“Indeed.”
“I like your courage. avalanche Very well. portal I’ll hear you out.”
“……A question?”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
At that unexpected question, Cromwell blinked a couple of times.
“It is just that, no matter how much I think about it, I find it strange. autumn Tell me, do you set out on expeditions before anyone else as soon as the Active Season begins, establish yourselves here, and then devote yourselves to robbing everyone who passes along this road?”
“W-what?”
“Is that not the case? Indra Translations protects the hard work of translators and authors. audit I do not believe you live here permanently. beacon Ultimately, you must also have departed from Sanctum, correct?”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
Meanwhile, Ash continued asking questions without stopping.
“……Uh, yeah. apron So what?”
“How hardworking you are. beacon Of all the mountain bandits I have known, you are the most diligent.”
“And when the ionic storms approach, do you return to Sanctum?”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
Ash shook his head.
“What the hell are mountain bandits?”
“No, no. acoustic Had we not agreed that I would be the one asking questions?”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
At that instant.
“And why the hell should I tell you that?”
“Good. antenna Now comes my real question. autumn From what I can see, you have been established in this canyon for quite some time. arena Could you tell me which corporations have passed through here on their way to the western battlefield?”
“……What the hell did we agree on? arctic What the fuck are you talking about?!”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
“Because otherwise, you will die.”
Ash’s optical sensors emitted a chilling glow.
As soon as he finished speaking those words.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
“E-eh?”
Woooooo.
An unsettling low-frequency hum began spreading in every direction from Ash’s body.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
At first, he thought he had simply taken a wrong step.
But the changes did not end there.
Cromwell’s body, which until then had remained standing with an arrogant attitude, began involuntarily leaning forward.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
He screamed and tried to resist, but it was useless.
However, he soon discovered that his entire body was being inexorably dragged by an invisible, gigantic force.
“Aaaah! adopt W-what the hell is this?!”
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
Cromwell was left suspended in the air, desperately kicking his legs without understanding what had just happened to him.
In an instant, Ash seized him by the neck.
“Ack!”
And so, Cromwell ended up being pulled directly toward the right arm Ash had extended in front of him.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
Then he spoke quietly.
All the sounds that had filled the canyon until then vanished as though by magic.
The approximately one hundred gun barrels remained pointed at Ash, but none of their owners dared to pull the trigger now that their boss had been captured so easily.
Ash gazed through his cold optical sensors at Cromwell, who remained dangling in the air while desperately struggling.
Translation of Cyberpunk Chivalry - Chapter 94: Heading West 2 by Indra Translations.
Under that piercing turquoise glow, Cromwell’s face began rapidly turning pale.
“Good. armor I shall ask you once more. artist Which corporations have gathered on the western battlefield?”
