I Killed an Academy Player Chapter 304: Epilogue of the Webtoon Commemorative Special

Chapter 304: Epilogue of the Webtoon Commemorative Special

Up until the moment I first opened my eyes in this world, I thought I would end up as nothing more than a supporting character.

And that wasn’t strange within the story—I was an extra among extras.

A simple character who passed by briefly in an event scene.

That was Corin Loch.

I spent three years traveling alongside the true protagonist, Park Sihoo.

I discovered the truth, was betrayed, and returned once more.

The people I couldn’t save because of my immaturity.

For those I lost before my very eyes, I made a warrior’s vow.

I swore that I would not tolerate the misfortune of the righteous, that I would defeat the wicked and save the world.

This time, I would not fail.

I swore it, staking my life.

Everything began when I saved a girl who was about to fall into a miserable life.

Thus, kindness chained itself one after another, and on the day the final battle against the Demon King ended—

[Corin Loch, congratulations on reaching the hidden ending.]

Without a doubt, we saved the world.

“Corin.”

“Hey.”

“Corin…?”

At the female voices calling me, I opened my eyes with difficulty.

I wasn’t physically tired, but remembering what had happened during the night left me with a kind of mental fatigue.

“Corin, did you sleep well? Do you want potatoes for breakfast?”

“Ga-ga~, wake up. Hwa wants to play too. This never happens.”

“Hwaran… please don’t switch halfway through a sentence, it’s confusing.”

Beauties of every color were peeking down from above, chatting cheerfully.

‘This really is life.’

Ah, what a view.

“And what nonsense are you saying now?”

“Sister, give me a kiss on the cheek.”

“Huh? Now?”

Marie hesitated. When I urged her with my eyes, she closed them resignedly and leaned in.

—Thump!

“Guh…!”

“H-Hwaran?”

A direct punch to the chest. Hwaran had hit me.

“You’re getting spoiled.”

“Gh… Hwa… what are you doing to this Ga-ga husband…?”

“Stop talking nonsense and get up.”

With a cold look, Hwaran grabbed my hand and yanked me up.

“Ugh… you’ve been really cold lately, Hwa. Is it boredom?”

“Go wash up and eat. We need to leave soon.”

“What about the others?”

The one who answered was Alisha.

“Lunia and Director Erin will come with Professor Josephine. Estelle and Princess Miruam went ahead and are waiting for us.”

“And Deokgu and the kids?”

“They stayed at a park near the capital, so he’ll bring them over neatly.”

“Hayeon and Abigail aren’t fighting again, are they?”

“Lately they don’t fight that hard.”

Anyway, kids—hopefully they’ll get along as well as my wives do.

“There’s still time. Let’s eat properly. Sister Marie, can you make something other than boiled potatoes?”

“Hmm~ how about you give me a kiss?”

“Of course.”

I hugged her from behind as she wore her apron and kissed her on the cheek.

Marie smiled happily.

“Hey.”

Suddenly, Hwa yanked my ear hard. Why so violent today?

“Stop bothering her and go bathe.”

“Alright, alright~”

Using the turn, I scooped Hwaran up in a surprise hug.

Before she could protest, I sealed her lips with a quick kiss.

“Brother, are you going to bathe?”

“I’m not your brother. We’re the same age.”

Really? My real age is better left unsaid.

As I headed to the bathroom, I heard a soft voice.

“When you come back, do the same with me.”

I’ll need to brush my teeth well.

“Lulu~ lala~ the knight king who returned with the gods~

The villain too competent, second round~

It’s so fun~

If you go to Mun-X-a Siri-X~”

As I hummed nonsense that somehow felt meaningful, someone entered the bathroom.

“Huh? Weren’t you done? Shall we bathe together?”

“Ah, Corin-ssi~”

It was Alisha. Since she was still dressed, it didn’t look like she came to bathe.

“What’s up?”

“I forgot my cosmetics~”

“Oh, take them.”

Alisha picked something up from the sink, but before leaving she stopped and turned around.

“What?”

“If we play together here, wouldn’t it be… that kind of game?”

“What kind of game?”

“Leaving the wife outside and in the bathtub doing something forbidde—”

“Don’t forget you’re also my wife…”

Alisha has strange tastes. Sometimes she’s scary.

“Hehe, bathe calmly, dear~ Marie is showing all her talent.”

“I’m coming.”

When I came out, my women were serving food and chatting cheerfully.

They were so adorable that I kissed each of them on the cheek one by one.

“What are you doing?”

“Nothing.”

“Hehe, you could do it on the lips.”

“If I keep going, I think we won’t stop.”

“Corin, you have no self-control.”

“With wives this beautiful, having self-control would be abnormal.”

After a breakfast full of affection, we went out into the courtyard.

There stood Mr. Berg, captain of the wyvern squad of the Dunareff duchy.

“Ah, are you leaving already?”

“Thank you for the effort so early in the morning.”

“Hahaha, for the young lady and her family, one must give it their all.”

The place we spent the night was the Dunareff villa in the capital, used by the southern grand duchy when visiting the royal city.

“Preparing for takeoff of Ref-One. Everyone, please board the passenger cabin of Hresvelgr.”

“Count on us, Uncle Berg!”

We boarded the cabin attached to the enormous flying beast Hresvelgr and flew over the capital.

“From the sky, the capital is impressive.”

“It’s an airspace exclusion zone. Not many can see this.”

All thanks to me being the God of the Sun and us being VVVIPs. With heirs to the throne and the head of the Papacy as wives, who could deny us privileges?

We arrived at a place not far from the capital, with a beautiful coastline before our eyes. There, our ‘home’ was being built.

“Waa! Look at that!”

Ran, already changed, pointed out the window.

“Wow…”

I couldn’t help but admire it.

In the past, in the city of Merkabah where the Merkabah Academy was located, we had secured huge offices and land thanks to Marie’s extravagance.

But seen from the sky, our new home left me speechless.

Before us stretched a landscape worthy of a small city.

***

After the wedding of the century—a simultaneous marriage with eight (nine) brides—we couldn’t spend our honeymoon in a normal newlywed home.

To begin with, the roles each of them played were too important and we were scattered across different places; moreover, if we chose a mansion in the royal capital, we were warned that people would gather uncontrollably.

And it was true—every time we went to the capital, crowds gathered just to see the God of the Sun and his wives, turning any outing into something like a sacred pilgrimage.

That’s why we decided the newlyweds’ home should be as remote as possible, far from human contact.

As for supplies and travel, it was enough to use personal wyverns or the massive passenger air beast Hresvelgr, and most importantly, we always had spatial magic users on our side.

“Ah, you’re already here, brother?”

“Yeah.”

Park Sirin appeared, opening a spatial portal.

Along with Josephine, she is our main means of transportation.

“I’m not a means of transportation. Don’t talk about people as if they were airplanes.”

“Huh? How did you know?!”

Park Sirin smiled as she adjusted my clothes.

“Well, because you think simply.”

“Heh, really? Have you seen Hayeon?”

“She’s coming by carriage with Deokgu and the kids. She even left the escort to Deokgumla—did you have a good time?”

“C-cough…”

At Sirin’s bluntness, Marie, Hwaran, and Alisha cleared their throats.

“Oh~ little brother Corin!”

“You just arrived?”

At that moment, Estelle and Miruam approached from the back.

“So? Have you toured the newlyweds’ house yet?”

“How long has it been since the wedding to keep calling it a honeymoon?”

“If you enjoy it as a honeymoon, then it is.”

I approached the three of them and kissed each one to celebrate the reunion.

“And our princess? Everything okay with prenatal stimulation?”

At the end of my gaze, Miruam’s belly was clearly swollen.

I never imagined that such a memorable day would bear results so quickly.

“What’s the point of being careful if the supposed father never shows up?”

“Ouch, sorry. But now that we have a house, I’ll come back more often.”

I brought my ear close to her belly, and suddenly—

“Kuh!”

“Ah! The baby kicked!”

“Huh?”

He has the makings of a general.

“Will it be a boy or a girl?”

“Whatever it is, raising them well is enough. It’s your child and mine.”

“You say more embarrassing things every day…”

Even so, Miruam added that I was a good husband and kissed me on the cheek.

Behind us, Estelle murmured, “Then tonight…?”, to which Miruam replied with a curt “shut up.” What a shame.

“By the way, the house is huge. It’s like a small city.”

Erin and Lunia had also arrived. Both looked overwhelmed by our new home.

“They say the base design is royal style, but there are exotic parts too. That area is Hwaran’s personal annex, built in an eastern style.”

“They even recreated ancient styles from the mythic era. It must have been difficult with so few sources.”

“We have the Castle of Shadows as reference.”

Our home was built over more than five years, gathering the best architects.

Around the common space, individual annexes were raised for each wife, reflecting their tastes.

Erin didn’t ask for anything special, so I had her area made as close as possible to the Castle of Shadows.

“There’s still a lot of empty land. Will the eastern area be a training ground?”

“They plan to build wyvern docks to the east and west. They’ll also bring several
Hresvelgr.”

“Then give me the remaining space. I’ll build a dojo.”

“Having a training place at home wouldn’t be bad.”

“The kids should also start early education.”

“Already?”

Even excluding Deokgu, the oldest, Hayeon, is already eight.

“What are you saying? At this age it’s normal to start. Kang Hyeok already even did his Jianghu journey.”

“…I thought he was a special case.”

“Well, the most important thing is the bed. Somewhere the kids can’t enter.”

“C-cough…”

A traumatic memory from last year.

Lately, the Arden kids even get nervous when they see tonkatsu.

Then Marie approached.

“By the way, Corin, what name will you give the house?”

“Houses have names too?”

“Of course! Rich houses always do.”

“…A name…”

Since it’s our home, I wanted something memorable. It’s no longer just a house; it’s practically a city.

“Got it! I’ve decided!”

All eyes focused on me.

“Afang Palace! Let’s call it Afang Palace!”

“Brother, please shut up.”

Sirin smacked the back of my head.

“Afang Palace? What is that?”

“…You don’t need to know.”

“Ahem… let’s leave the name for later. There’s something more important.”

I gathered my wives and asked the servants to prepare the chamber.

But with nine people, it took time to arrange ourselves.

“Corin, do you want potatoes? I don’t know where to put them.”

“I don’t know where all the potatoes Marie eats go.”

“Hmm?”

Marie offered me a potato split in half, sprinkled with sugar.

“Ran, will you take the photo?”

“Let’s take it together, Hwaran.”

Hwaran shared the body in halves—one red eye and one blue—forming an odd eye.

“Sister! Come quickly!”

“Alisha, behave. What is that outfit?”

Lunia fixed Alisha’s messy attire.

“Do you like it? Do you like it?”

Estelle pressed her chest against my back smiling, while Miruam clicked her tongue.

“I like it.”

“D-do you want me to hug you too?”

When Erin said it cautiously, they all pounced on me.

“A-ah… t-take the photo!”

The photographer, though surprised, did his duty.

I could only laugh. Very loudly.

“Hahahahahaha!”

Someone asked if I was that happy.

“Of course! I’m so happy I could die!”

“I’m the happiest man in the world!”

There wasn’t a single lie in it.

***

When one looks at the world of shadows, it seems as if it will be filled with darkness forever.

The end of the era of the gods brought with it the curses they left upon humans, whom they called traitors.

A reverse world where dark magic is born without end.

This was where the origin of countless tragedies arose.

Here, demonic factors were sown into people, giving rise to the birth of beasts and demonic spirits.

But now, that era of curses is also coming to an end.

Because in this world of darkness and shadows, a new sun has risen.

Solar Manifestation – Claur Solas.

Having inherited the divinity of the God of the Sun, I, having become the new God of the Sun, can freely manifest the sun that will illuminate this world.

Under the light that I cast, the world of shadows began to shine dazzlingly.

And within that light, I illuminated a single photograph.

A photo that preserves our most beautiful moments.

“It’s fine like this.”

We still have an enormous amount of time ahead of us.

Yes, even more future than past.

And yet, when I recall this beautiful moment, I cannot help but feel a gentle, lingering nostalgia.

“Hehe… when we go back, what shall we play this time?”

The children are already nearing the age to enter the academy, the date of Lunia’s and Alisha’s ninth childbirth is also approaching, and they say that next month Deokgu will launch a new luxury brand.

Though no matter how much I think about it, calling the brand “DUCKU” sounds a little too improvised.

“Ah… now that I think about it, is Shia already on her fifth childbirth? Which of my brothers-in-law will it be?”

I never imagined that guy would end up marrying classmates after possessing that body during his student days.

Truly, Shia resembles me a lot in that straightforward and explosive aspect.

“There’s so much to do.”

With so many things happening in the world of the living, what the hell am I doing here?

“Don’t you think this is way too much hard labor?”

— Grrrrr…

An inhuman roar echoed.

Still overwhelmed by the brilliance of the sun, the beasts showed no intention of retreating.

“A world of shadows as vast as the world itself… the Dannan really left something troublesome behind.”

Demonic beasts.

An evil that must be purified without fail in the coming era.

I should be enjoying a long period of happiness, but I can’t just leave them like this.

If I work harder, more people will be able to live.

So—

“Let’s finish this quickly and go on vacation, bastards!”

Let’s do it as well as we can.

Like now, happily, for a long time.

Loving each other, crying together, and living like this.

It doesn’t matter if I am a supporting character or the protagonist.

If I am a simple lancer or the God of the Sun.

There is something that never changes.

That is my way of living.

To seek what is right, even if it is not the most efficient path.

The stubbornness of a sub-player who was not a player.

I will be happy.

Together with everyone.

Did you enjoy the commemorative webtoon extra?

It has been a year and a half since the ending in May 2022.

Coming back to write this extra for the webtoon brought back many memories from when I was serializing I Killed the Player of the Academy.

I think I am an author who has received love far beyond what I deserve.

Thanks to the support of so many readers, my third long novel is also approaching its end, and on top of that, I currently have two webtoons in publication.

It has been about three years full of ups and downs as a web novel writer, but even so, I continue to receive tremendous affection, for which I am deeply grateful.

I Killed the Player of the Academy is a very meaningful work to me.

It was written at a time when, after finishing military service and university, I didn’t know what to do with my life.

On Munpia, after two consecutive cancellations and deliberately avoiding the genre known as “character-dependent,” the boom of academy novels was in full swing.

I believe there were two authors who led that trend.

First, Jee Gab Song, author of The Villain Wants to Live.

And second, Korita, author of The Extra’s Academy Survival Guide.

It was a strange atmosphere.

That academy novels, considered “character-dependent,” could succeed in the Munpia market, where the average reader age is so high?

Could what I had written so far really work in that market?

Should I deliberately change my style to adapt?

Amid those doubts, the overwhelming success of those two works gave me tremendous courage.

And the final push was The Black-Haired Foreigner at the Academy by the author Noppakku-man.

Truly astonishing works.

That level of “otaku power” in the volume-publishing market?

Filling entire chapters with nothing but character interactions and having readers enjoy it that much?

Ah! The world is vast, pioneers exist, and there are those who open difficult paths before others.

For an author like me, who follows paths already opened, the existence of such people will always be a source of gratitude.

Thanks to them, I was able to fully unleash, without restraint, the genre I wanted to write—this “character-dependent” genre—in I Killed the Player of the Academy.

But an author’s ambition has no end.

There are still many stories I want to write.

So many more that I want to show you.

I wanted to show more, for a longer time.

Even so, a story that we shared, enjoyed, laughed at, and discussed together also needs an ending.

And thus, the story of Corin Loch reaches its definitive conclusion.

I hope this work, which portrayed his journey, has entertained readers and made them smile.

I will continue to return with new works, seeking my readers again and again.

If you remember fondly the author called SaramSalryeo, and if you read the stories I still have to show, there will be no greater happiness for me.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and I ask that you continue to accompany me.

With this, the journey that began on May 12, 2021, comes to an end.

“Ugh…!”

My head hurts.

Could it be that I drank too much yesterday?

Josephine Clara opened her eyes while groaning, bringing a hand to her throbbing head.

“Ugh… I don’t remember……”

What did I do last night?

She remembers bringing supplies in a cart for Corin, who was purifying demonic evil in the world of shadows.

Erin was also at the “Corin Palace,” recovering from the childbirth of her third child, so Corin was alone in the world of shadows.

She remembers preparing homemade food for him, since it had been a long time since he had eaten it, and also having a little to drink with him…

“….Huh?”

Why… am I naked?

Josephine, upon seeing her own unclothed body, immediately covered herself with the blanket.

“Huh? E-eh?”

Why?

Why did I take off my clothes?

No, more importantly──

“Ah….”

Why is this man also naked?

Josephine looked at the young man sleeping soundly beside her and opened and closed her mouth, unable to say anything.

A wild impression, hair tied back in a ponytail, a muscular body that fit her tastes perfectly.

That boy who had been her “disciple.”

And the husband of her adoptive mother──

“N-no way……”

What the hell happened last night?

Josephine’s silent scream echoed through the world of shadows.

The story continues even after the ending.
