Synopsis
A mystery novelist from the 21st century dies after falling from the rooftop of a Sherlock Holmes-themed pub.
When he opens his eyes, he finds himself in London at the turn of the 20th century, inhabiting the body of Ewan Fogg, a twelve-year-old orphan working in a printing factory.
In an era when Sherlock Holmes dominates the literary world and poverty hides behind the grandeur of the British Empire, Ewan decides to put his knowledge of modern storytelling to use.
Armed with nothing but his memories, a pen, and a desire to tell the stories of people society has forgotten, he begins writing a detective novel.
But what starts as a simple attempt to earn a living soon attracts attention from readers, publishers, and some of the most influential figures in Britain.
And somehow, everyone begins mistaking a twelve-year-old child laborer for a great literary master.
